July 29, 2025 – In a decisive move to enhance the country’s cyber resilience, the Philippine Army Cyber Battalion partnered with Service IT+  for a high-impact cybersecurity initiative themed “Fortifying the Digital Battlefield.”

This collaboration demonstrates the Philippine Army's commitment to strengthening national cybersecurity by combining military strategy with private-sector innovation. The event focused on practical cyber defense tactics that support the government's security objectives, ensuring critical systems remain protected against advanced threats.

A Shared Commitment to Cyber Defense

The session focused on practical cybersecurity strategies, prevention, detection, response, and recovery within the context of modern defense operations. Experts explored how emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions, can enhance threat mitigation and ensure the continuity of critical systems. Real-world use cases demonstrated how adaptive cybersecurity measures can counter increasingly sophisticated threats, ensuring secure communications and resilient infrastructure for national security operations.

A Key Message from the Philippine Army

One of the event’s highlights was a powerful message from BGEN Jamel P. Samonte, PA, Commander of the Signal Regiment, who emphasized that cyber defense is inseparable from national defense.

Cyber defense is national defense. As the Philippine Army advances its land maneuver concept, the need for protected, real-time communications becomes essential. Without secure and uninterrupted digital connectivity, our operational tempo is compromised.”

BGEN Samonte also recognized the Cyber Battalion’s central role in protecting the Army’s command and control systems and ensuring mission-critical data remains secure and accessible, calling their ongoing collaboration with private sector partners, including Service IT+, “the kind of forward-thinking posture we need in today’s operational environment.”

He further stressed that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, extending beyond IT units to commanders, staff officers, system users, technology partners, including Service IT+, and every soldier across the organization. “Cybersecurity must become part of our daily discipline,” he said, pointing to the foundational role of digital systems in the AFP’s Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept (CADC).

Moving Forward Together

The event reinforced a clear message: Cyber resilience doesn’t happen by chance, it’s built through intentional collaboration, continuous learning, and shared responsibility. That’s the foundation on which Service IT+ operates, and it’s what drives our commitment to supporting the Philippine Army and broader defense community.

In an era of relentless cyber warfare, we remain focused on delivering technologies and strategies that protect critical infrastructure, secure mission data, and enable a networked force, capable of defending both physical and digital territories.

Service IT+ is proud to stand alongside the Philippine Army in this mission. Together, we're not just preparing for the future, we're helping shape it.
